Located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, a short ferry ride from Vancouver.
Dena and her husband Guy, who designed and built the retreat, have kept the grounds consistent with the natural beauty of their surroundings. The one bedroom cottage is framed by a pond, and surrounded by forest.
It has a private entrance and ample parking, with a wood burning stove, a lovely sundeck, a stocked kitchen, and a hide-a-bed sofa in the living room. There are many walking trails surrounding the retreat, and the entrance to the beautiful Smuggler Cove Provincial Marine Park is a short 3 minute drive away. The Halfmoon Bay store is also nearby, along with kayak rentals, pubs, restaurants, liquor and video stores.
Turtle Rock became a natural choice due to the large rock at the heart of our property, which resembles a turtle's head and shell. I love the symbology of the Turtle:
“The top of the shell is a symbol of heaven, and the square underside, a symbol of earth. Turtle helps you to unite
heaven and earth in your own life.
Turtle holds the mystery of awakening the senses, both spiritually and physically. Turtle reminds us that the way to heaven is through earth, our
primal mother. In mother earth is all that we need. She will care for us, nuture and protect us, as long as we do the same for her.”
